Engineer I (Upholstery)

Job Functions

• Maintain lawn areas in a well-groomed manner
• Replace damaged ceiling tiles, floor tiles, and wall coverings
• Perform day-to-day maintenance (electrical, structural, carpentry, general)
• Perform preventative maintenance to equipment on a scheduled basis
• Handle routine calls, prioritized by guest service needs
• Repair furniture by repairing split seams, replacing broken springs and replacing foam in seat
• cushions. May include work on including hard finish, coverings, and sewing at times.
• Perform day-to-day maintenance on furniture, drapes, and equipment (gaming tables included)
• Perform preventative maintenance to furniture on a scheduled basis.
• Handle routine calls, prioritized by guest service needs.
• Assist where general labor is needed throughout the property.
• Keep upholstery shops and adjacent areas in a sanitary manner.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of general maintenance procedures
• Trade certification required.
• 1 – 2 years maintenance and/or engineering experience, preferably in gaming or hospitality
• Must have a current valid driver’s license
• Driving record must meet driver eligibility requirements of Rivers Casino’s insurance policy
• Knowledge of furniture assembly procedures.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to share or divide attention among several ongoing activities, projects, or assignments.
• Desire to do a precise and thorough job
• Keenness to use tools and machinery to perform tasks requiring precision
• Good vision, strength and endurance
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to follow all policies and procedures including but not limited to attendance, appearance, safety, and security policies.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Frequent walking, standing, kneeling, twisting, bending and lifting.
• Often required to lift pieces of furniture weighing up to 50lbs – alone.
