The Wayback — A Marriott Tribute Portfolio

At The Wayback, the bold, vibrant experience our guests love depends on a property that works flawlessly behind the scenes. As an Engineer, you are the backbone of that experience — the skilled, resourceful problem-solver who keeps every system, space, and piece of equipment running at its best so our guests never have to think twice about it. Working under the direction of the Operations Manager, this is a role for someone who takes genuine ownership of the property, works well independently, and understands that great hospitality starts with a well-maintained space.

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Maintain all property equipment, systems, and building components including mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, and tile
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, identify needs and parts, and make effective judgments on general repairs and maintenance
  • Complete all assigned projects according to specifications and on schedule by studying work orders and estimating time and resource requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked maintenance shop at all times
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations throughout each shift

Guest Experience & Operations

  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance concerns and complaints, resolving issues with urgency and care
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager and Guest Service team to coordinate maintenance activities with daily hotel operations
  • Keep the Operations Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems, unusual findings, or significant maintenance matters requiring immediate attention
  • Assist other departments as needed to ensure seamless property operations

Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Working knowledge of HVAC, MEP systems, refrigeration, basic electrical, and plumbing required
