Engineer - Systems Support - Managed Services

Job Description

• Monitor, configure, and maintain enterprise firewalls (Fortinet FortiGate and Check Point)
• Implement and audit security policies, NAT rules, Traffic Management(Traffic routing technologies) and VPN tunnels
• Manage and optimize load balancers to ensure high availability, efficient traffic distribution, and seamless performance of web applications
• Assist with web hosting environments and server management. Manage, configure, and secure Linux FTP servers and file transfer protocols (Training provided)
• Proactively monitor network performance, investigate security alerts, and resolve connectivity or performance bottlenecks independently
• Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation to respond to critical network emergencies and ensure continuous operational uptime
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date network diagrams, security policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Person Specification

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 1 year of practical experience in Network Engineering, Network Security
• Direct, hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting Fortinet (FortiGate) or Check Point firewalls
• Understanding or experience in load balancer appliance will be added advantage
• Knowledge of Linux administration, user permissions, and basic web hosting infrastructure will be added advantage
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and DNS.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage time effectively, and communicate technical issues clearly during emergencies
• Fortinet NSE 4 or above will be added advantage
• Check Point Certified Security Administrator (Optional)
• CCNA or equivalent routing and switching foundation (Optional)
