Engineer
Summary
Designs and optimizes food processing and warehouse operations, improving throughput, yield, and automation reliability in a production environment using Lean and Six Sigma methods.

- Design and optimize food processing and packaging line layouts, including room configurations and material flow.
- Support daily production operations through process improvement initiatives and technical problem-solving.
- Develop and improve warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, and order fulfillment processes.
- Evaluate and implement material handling solutions to increase efficiency and reduce labor costs.
- Collaborate on factory automation systems including MES, PLCs, sensors, and control systems.
- Partner with OEM vendors to specify, install, and optimize production equipment and integrated systems.
- Support commissioning, startup, and validation of new production lines and automation technologies.
- Utilize vision systems and inspection technologies for first article validation and ongoing quality control.
- Analyze and improve production line performance with a focus on throughput, yield, and overall productivity.
- Identify opportunities to reduce production costs and eliminate waste using Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints methodologies.
- Partner with production planning and scheduling teams to enhance production flow and capacity utilization.
- Drive process improvements in warehouse operations to streamline receiving and order fulfillment processes.
- Improve order accuracy, fill rates, and reduce operational errors.
- Lead facility layout design, refurbishment projects, and reconfiguration of production and warehouse spaces.
- Support re-commissioning efforts for modified or relocated production lines.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field required.
- 7+ years of experience in in manufacturing, distribution, or food processing environments.
- Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of food processing and packaging operations, production line design and optimization and warehouse operations and material handling systems
- Experience working with OEMs to improve machinery performance and integration.
- Familiarity with production planning and scheduling processes.
- Experience with vision systems and automated inspection technologies preferred.

- Must be available to work Monday–Friday during regular working hours, with occasional weekend duties.
- Ability to maintain a stationary position 80% of the time, with intermittent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and/or crawling.
- Ability to move and transport documents, equipment, or other items weighing up to 50 pounds across various locations for different team members, departments, and events.
- Capable of occasional travel as required by duties, demonstrating efficiency and effectiveness in diverse locations.
- Capable of operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, including a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
- Capable of frequently communicating with team members and stakeholders, accurately conveying detailed or important spoken instructions.
- Capable of perceiving visuals for activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer screen, and engaging in extensive reading.
