ABOUT THE ROLE
 WSP India is seeking a highly accomplished and motivated Engineer – Roads &
Civils to join our Transport & Infrastructure (T&I) business, based in Bengaluru /
Noida. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our South
Africa-based Civils teams, contributing to prestigious, high-profile projects across the
T&I sector.
 This opportunity offers the rare advantage of working within a truly global

professionals in South Africa, spanning Highways, Transport Planning, ITS, Rail,
Civil, Bridges, Water, Maritime, and Advisory sectors.

WHAT WE DO
 The team provides end-to-end expertise across the planning lifecycle: from project
feasibility and option appraisals to public consultation, application preparation,
supporting inquiries, and examinations, through to preliminary and detailed designs.
 Our aim is to ensure every design is fully optimised, future-ready, and fit for
construction. Our client base includes leading public, municipal and private sector
organisations across South Africa.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Engineer – Roads & Civils, you will:
 Serve as a core member of the ZA GCC India T&I team, delivering strategic support
from India to develop and deliver projects through various stages of design from
concept to detail.
 Originate and check roads, drainage, car park designs and drawings, land
development, plot grading, bulk earthwork quantity calculations with minimal
supervision, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and project
requirements.
 Work under the mentorship of leaders in India and South Africa, developing expertise
while growing Roads & Civils capability in India.
 Organise, manage, and deliver work to the highest professional standards, ensuring
quality, timeliness, and alignment with WSP’s guiding principles.
 Engage in clear, consistent communication with colleagues in both regions;
contribute actively to team and project meetings.
 Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams, supporting Team Leaders, Line
Managers, and Project Managers to ensure seamless delivery.
 Take ownership of assigned tasks, demonstrating initiative and research-driven
problem-solving.

 Provide guidance and mentorship to junior colleagues, nurturing talent and building
strong technical capability.
 Support and strengthen client relationships, maintaining regular interaction with
South Africa offices.
 Leverage the opportunity to be mentored towards attaining professional qualification
with globally recognised institutions.
 Actively participate in knowledge-sharing forums, both internal and external, and
support business development activities including technical input into bids and
proposals.
 Uphold WSP’s unwavering commitment to Health & Safety across all work practices.
 Ensure accurate and timely completion of project timesheets and other
documentation.
MANDATORY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
 Demonstrate a good knowledge and experience of road design, grading and car park
designs.
 Demonstrate a good knowledge and experience of stormwater designs and land
development.
 Demonstrate a good knowledge and experience of lot and plot grading.
 Demonstrate a good knowledge and experience of earthworks modelling and
calculations.
 Develop 2D and 3D Models, and respective drawings.
 Production of plans, including general and drainage plan drawings, plan and profile
drawings
 Use the relevant design software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD and Autodesk
Construction Cloud.
 Ensure compliance with design standards, QAQC processes, and Health & Safety
checks.
 Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
 Preparation of design methodologies and design basis statements.
 Preparation of technical notes covering specifications.
 Mentoring and technical support to CAD and engineers to develop drawings and
standard details.
 Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
 Lead and attend design review meetings and progress meetings with Clients.
 Outstanding verbal and written English communication skills; detail-oriented,
proactive, and outcome-driven.
 Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
 Confidence to seek clarification of instructions and work scope.

 High level of self-motivation, integrity, and professional ethics.
 Strong sense of accountability with the ability to work independently.
 Strong teamwork and coordination abilities, with experience of mentoring teams.
DESIRED SKILLS
 Recognised professional institution membership (Engineering Council UK or
equivalent).
 Knowledge of South Africa Highway and Drainage design standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
 B.Tech. in Civil Engineering or equivalent with good length of relevant experience.
 M.Tech in Transportation Engineering or equivalent will be given preference.
 Minimum of 5 years of experience.
BACKGROUND VERIFICATION (BGV)
 Employment with WSP India is contingent upon the successful completion of a
Background Verification (BGV) process conducted by a third-party agency authorized
by WSP India.
 Candidates are required to ensure that all information and documentation provided
