Engineering Delivery Manager

Engineering Delivery Manager

Location: Hybrid - occasional travel to Lithuania

Type: Contract | September start preferred

The Role

A fast-growing technology business is looking for an Engineering Delivery Manager to take ownership of delivery across a group of software products, including a business-critical platform rebuild and a large-scale advertising product currently undergoing a major rewrite.

This is a hands-on delivery role, not a pure people-management or Agile-coaching position. You'll be the person who keeps releases, dependencies, and the SDLC moving - technical enough to help developers work through blockers, and organised enough to bring structure to a growing, currently under-managed engineering group.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Taking line management responsibility for a group of engineers across multiple product areas
  • Owning the SDLC end-to-end: managing releases, dependencies, and CI/CD pipelines (JIRA, Bitbucket, Jenkins)
  • Bringing structure and process to a ~20-person team (developers and product owners), a large portion of whom aren't currently managed
  • Supporting a business-critical platform rebuild - a complex system being rewritten from scratch while the legacy version is still maintained
  • Working closely with architects and senior stakeholders as the business modernises its tooling and moves toward AI-native, cloud-native development practices
  • Building genuine working relationships across distributed teams, including travel to Lithuania

What They're Looking For

  • Strong understanding of the SDLC and modern delivery practices - you don't need to be a hands-on developer, but you need to be technical enough to earn credibility with engineers
  • Experience managing teams, ideally including remote/distributed teams
  • A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset - someone who genuinely enjoys managing people and process, without excessive Agile ceremony
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity - the business is going through a CEO transition, so the long-term roadmap is still taking shape
  • Exposure to Java/AWS environments is useful, as is familiarity with TypeScript, but this is not a strict requirement

Why Apply

  • Genuine scope and autonomy - you'd be filling a real gap in how a growing engineering group is managed, not just filling a seat
  • Involvement in a business-critical rebuild with international contracts already won
  • Exposure to modern, AI-native tooling and practices as the business rebuilds its stack from the ground up
  • Flexibility on contract structure, with a route to permanent for the right person
