Engineering Director Frontend

You will lead the frontend organization across core business areas, including trading and payments. You will own hiring, talent development, and pipeline building; partner with product, backend, security, and compliance stakeholders; and deliver frontend experiences for trading, wallets, asset management, AI-powered products, payment integrations, and KYC/AML. You will guide technical design, align and evolve the technology stack, manage technical risk, and set engineering standards for security, performance, reliability, and compliance. You will use business metrics and user experience to make trade-offs, integrate AI considerations into product decisions, and communicate technical and business judgment to engineers, product managers, and senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Own hiring, talent development, and pipeline building.
• Partner with product, backend, security, and compliance stakeholders to drive cross-functional outcomes.
• Lead technical design and delivery for trading, wallet, asset-management, AI-powered trading, payment, and KYC/AML frontend features.
• Use business metrics and user experience to balance speed and quality.
• Integrate AI considerations into product decisions and design.
• Align and evolve the frontend technology stack.
• Identify and address technical risks.
• Establish engineering standards for crypto security, frontend attack prevention, and compliance auditing.
• Communicate technical value and business judgment to engineers, product managers, and senior leadership.
• Participate in industry engagements to attract crypto-focused talent.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in computer science or a related field.
• 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years managing technical teams.
• Full-stack capabilities with strong frontend depth.
• Expertise in React or Vue internals, engineering toolchains, performance optimization, and cross-platform solutions.
• Backend and API fluency.
• Experience leading frontend products with DAU above 1 million in high-concurrency, high-availability environments.
• Experience driving cross-team collaboration and standards adoption through technical influence.
• Knowledge of CEX and DEX trading mechanics, Web3 wallets, signing mechanisms, and payment gateway ecosystems.
• Experience delivering frontend products for trading, fintech, payments, or crypto.
• Knowledge of compliance, security, and user-experience trade-offs.
• Familiarity with ethers.js, wagmi, viem, WalletConnect, and EVM contract interactions.
• Understanding of AI's impact on product design and ability to incorporate AI into product decisions.
