Engineering Director Mobile Infrastructure
You will lead and develop a mobile infrastructure engineering team, setting technical direction for tooling, shared frameworks, performance systems, and developer experience. You will drive architecture decisions and engineering standards, champion AI-enabled engineering workflows, and solve complex platform challenges. You will partner with product, design, backend, and security stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable mobile infrastructure. You will own production performance engineering across memory, package size, startup time, and UI rendering.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the mobile infrastructure engineering team.
- Set technical direction for mobile tooling, shared frameworks, performance systems, and developer experience tooling.
- Champion AI tools and workflows for code generation, review, testing, and incident analysis.
- Drive mobile platform architecture decisions and engineering standards.
- Partner with product engineering teams to deliver infrastructure solutions and unblock development.
- Own platform performance engineering for memory, package size, startup time, and UI rendering.
- Collaborate with product, design, backend, and security stakeholders on platform goals.
- Serve as the technical expert for complex mobile infrastructure challenges.
Requirements
- 8+ years of mobile engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of team lead or management experience focused on infrastructure, platform, or architecture.
- Experience leading and growing engineering teams.
- Expertise in iOS or Android development.
- Understanding of mobile performance, toolchains, architecture, and developer experience.
- Experience using AI tools in engineering workflows.
- Ability to align cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to make technical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
