Engineering Generalist (Full Time)

Engineering Generalist

This role supports the Director of Engineering (DOE) and Assistant Director of Engineering (ADOE) in a large engineering and landscaping operation on a 32 acre luxury resort. Responsible for the Generalist duties which includes purchasing, payroll, issuing purchase orders, accounting, administrative duties, organizing work orders and other closely related duties.

​​​​​​Key Responsibilities:

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Provide administrative support to the Engineering Department to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Engineering (ADOE) and Engineering Supervisor with work orders and ALICE task assignments.
  • Dispatch engineering service requests using radio communications and the ALICE work order system.
  • Monitor Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and resumes for engineering-related requirements and coordinate support as needed.
  • Organize and maintain the department calendar for contract services, preventive maintenance, and required inspections.
  • Schedule deliveries and pickups of engineering materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Update and maintain colleague attendance and performance records.
  • These responsibilities may change and evolve over time and thus are subject to change.

Purchasing & Vendor Management

  • Obtain price quotations and prepare purchase orders for materials, equipment, and contracted services.
  • Meet with vendors to evaluate products and services, communicate department needs, and share recommendations with the engineering team.
  • Coordinate vendor visits and service schedules.

Financial Administration

  • Code invoices and process payments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the Engineering Department checkbook and perform related accounting functions.
  • Prepare monthly departmental accruals.
  • Assist with monthly expense reporting and financial commentary in the absence of the Director of Engineering (DOE) and Assistant Director of Engineering (ADOE).

Scheduling & Payroll

  • Prepare and maintain department schedules using Dayforce.
  • Process payroll and maintain accurate employee timekeeping records.

Preventive Maintenance & Building Systems

  • Track preventive maintenance (PM) programs and coordinate room or area access for scheduled maintenance.
  • Assist in monitoring the INNCOM Control Center for guestroom HVAC systems to support guest comfort and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency and the ability to perform calculations accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with Dayforce, ALICE, INNCOM, or similar hotel management systems is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal departments, vendors, and engineering staff.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and guest service.

Hourly Rate: $31.68 USD

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining U.S. work authorization.
