Engineering Intern
About the Role
We're a fast-growing, Series A/B-backed EdTech company building an AI-powered mobile learning platform used by tens of millions of students across the globe. Our suite of tools — including an AI tutor, smart flashcards, homework assistance, and peer-generated study notes — helps students study smarter and perform better academically.
We're looking for a motivated Engineering Intern to join our team and contribute to the product and infrastructure powering one of the most widely used student learning platforms in the world. This is a hands-on role where you'll work alongside experienced engineers and ship real code from day one.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with full-time engineers on building and improving features across the platform
Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
Help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production and development environments
Contribute to mobile and/or backend development efforts depending on team placement
Work closely with product and design teams to deliver user-facing improvements
Participate in agile ceremonies including standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
What We're Looking For
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Solid fundamentals in at least one programming language (e.g. JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Swift, Kotlin, or similar)
Eagerness to learn, take ownership, and deliver in a fast-paced startup environment
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Genuine interest in education technology and building products that matter to students
Nice to have:
Prior experience with mobile development (iOS or Android) or web frameworks
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure or backend services
Previous internship or project experience in a software engineering context
Work authorisation: Applicants must be authorised to work in Germany or the United Kingdom. No visa sponsorship is available.
Location
This role is on-site in either Berlin, Germany or London, United Kingdom. You must be willing and able to commute to one of these offices regularly.
