Engineering Lead (Hands on, Lean Engineering)

Your new role

We are looking for a highly technical Tech Lead / Engineering Manager who remains deeply involved in software development, spending approximately 70% of their time hands-on coding, architecture, and technical problem-solving. You will lead a team of engineers while driving the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality applications.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, development, and delivery of web and mobile applications using modern technologies such as ReactJS, Typescript and Node.js.

• Remain highly hands-on through coding, code reviews, technical troubleshooting and driving engineering best practices across the development lifecycle.

• Champion lean engineering principles by delivering simple, maintainable, and scalable solutions, avoiding unnecessary complexity while balancing speed, quality, and business value.

• Guide and mentor engineers, establishing coding standards, design patterns, and a strong engineering culture focused on quality and continuous improvement.

• Partner with business stakeholders, product teams, and project managers to translate requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.

• Drive cloud adoption, application integration, CI/CD practices, and deployment strategies while ensuring performance, security, and reliability.

Job Requirements

• Experience working with on large scale software systems with an awareness of how software behaves and performs as usage grows.

• Comfortable with modern web development practices including familiarity with modern tech stack such as Java/Typescript and Next/React.

• Strong appreciation for lean software development practices, with the ability to make pragmatic technical decisions, minimise technical debt, and focus on delivering business value through simple and effective solutions.

• Ability to guide technical decisions and support teams effectively, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills alongside technical capability.

• A mindset that values thoughtful and lean engineering, collaboration, maintainability, and delivering simple, scalable solutions with long term quality in mind while avoiding unnecessary complexity.

• Due to project requirements and hiring considerations, this opportunity is currently open to candidates who are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents.
