We're looking for an experienced Engineering & Maintenance Manager to support our Madison, WI facility in its manufacturing operations. This leader will drive operational excellence through effective management of engineering, maintenance, facilities, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives. What You'll Do
- Lead and manage equipment, tooling, facilities engineering, and maintenance functions
- Develop and manage the annual capital budget and three-year capital plan
- Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate engineering and maintenance team members
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain a competent and engaged workforce
- Manage capital projects from development through implementation
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, uptime, and efficiency
- Partner with Environmental, Health & Safety leadership to ensure OSHA and environmental compliance
- Develop and direct preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Implement equipment and tooling improvement plans to reduce downtime
- Ensure compliance with GMP, SQF, ISO 13485, and other applicable quality standards
- Maintain engineering budgets and analyze financial performance
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and operational excellence initiatives
- Establish and maintain 5S programs throughout manufacturing operations
- Manage disaster preparedness planning and response
- Maintain professional and technical expertise through ongoing education and industry involvement
- Support organizational objectives and perform additional duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- Minimum seven years of progressively responsible experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Minimum five years of management experience leading engineering and maintenance functions
- Proven leadership and employee development skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management abilities
- Understanding of financial and business principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard business software
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects with strong attention to detail
