The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with hands-on leadership and experience developing engineered products for stormwater, water treatment, or related environmental applications. This role will partner closely with sales, manufacturing, and customers to deliver practical, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team, establishing priorities and balancing resources across customer projects and product development initiatives.

• Oversee the design, sizing, and application of stormwater treatment systems, including hydrodynamic separators, filtration systems, and biofiltration solutions.

• Review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and technical submittals for accuracy and completeness.

• Guide hydraulic evaluations, including flow capacity, head loss, and system configuration, to support appropriate product selection and performance.

• Partner with sales and customers to understand project requirements, evaluate technical feasibility, and develop proposals and customized solutions.

• Manage new product development and improvements to existing products, from concept and prototyping through testing and production release.

• Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, resolve technical issues, and maintain product quality.

• Support product performance testing, third-party verification, and documentation for applicable stormwater approval programs.

• Establish and maintain engineering standards, design review procedures, document control, and engineering change processes.

• Provide technical support to consulting engineers, contractors, representatives, and customers during design, installation, and operation.

• Track engineering schedules, project budgets, and department performance to ensure timely delivery and effective resource use.

• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

• Seven or more years of relevant engineering experience, including at least three years leading engineering teams or technical projects.

• Experience with stormwater management, water treatment equipment, fluid-handling systems, or related engineered products.

• Strong understanding of hydraulics, fluid mechanics, engineering design, and product performance evaluation.

• Experience reviewing technical drawings, calculations, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.

• Proficiency with CAD software and engineering analysis tools.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects within established schedules and budgets.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to customers and colleagues across functions.

• A practical approach to troubleshooting, decision-making, and team development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.

• Direct experience with stormwater treatment technologies, pollutant removal, and site-specific system selection.

• Familiarity with stormwater product testing, verification, and regulatory acceptance processes.

• Experience with fabricated equipment, materials selection, corrosion protection, and design for manufacturing.

• Experience supporting product commercialization and implementing engineering process improvements.

Work Environment and Travel

This role involves collaboration in office, manufacturing, and field environments. Occasional travel may be required to customer locations, project sites, suppliers, and testing facilities.
