Engineering Manager

Own the technical architecture of Anaira's backend—scalable services in Java/Spring Boot, distributed systems, and integrations with AI agents and enterprise cores. A hands-on lead who drives architecture and grows engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Architect microservices, APIs, and event-driven/asynchronous workflows.
• Build backend platforms that integrate with AI agents, automation, and enterprise systems.
• Own architecture scalability, security, reliability, observability, and performance.
• Lead design and implementation of distributed systems and design reviews.
• Lead engineers through code reviews and hands-on problem-solving.
• Contribute to the technology roadmap and technical hiring.

Requirements:

• Skills: Java Spring (Boot, Cloud, Data JPA) and microservices architecture, PostgreSQL, Apache Kafka, polyglot persistence, Docker, Kubernetes, API-first design, security (JWT, OAuth2), testing (JUnit 5, Mockito, TestContainers), and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing).

Preferred

• Neo4j, Elasticsearch, event sourcing, CQRS, DDD.
• Business process engines, workflow orchestration.
• Insurance domain knowledge (policies, claims, underwriting).
• GitOps and CI/CD.
