Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:

• Architect AI-integrated enterprise systems and workflows.
• Build agentic/autonomous systems that interact with business platforms and execute governed actions.
• Design high-scale distributed and event-driven systems (Kafka or similar).
• Work on complex architectures: Event Sourcing, CQRS, DDD, Hexagonal.

Requirements:

• Startup experience: Must have banking/payments/lending/insurance domain knowledge.
• Bangalore and Mumbai | High Budget (Top of Market).
• 10+ years of experience as an engineer building AI-powered, agentic systems at scale for enterprise use cases.
• Experience in banking / payments / lending / insurance domains.
• Strong backend expertise (Java / Kotlin preferred).
• Deep understanding of data consistency, concurrency, and transactions.
• Exposure to AI/ML integrations + agent-based systems.
• Ability to thrive in startup environments with high ownership.
• Proven experience as an engineering manager/tech lead transitioning to EM.
• Strong background in product-based companies or early-stage startups (must-have).
• Experience building and scaling backend or full-stack systems.
• Ability to drive architecture, execution, and team ownership end-to-end.
• Strong focus on delivery, quality, and engineering culture.
• Experience managing and mentoring high-performance teams.

Good to Have:

• Ledger/state-replay systems.
• Temporal / workflow orchestration.
• Rule engines/policy systems.
• Cloud (AWS / GCP / Azure), SaaS, multi-tenancy.
• Zero-downtime migrations and schema evolution.
