Engineering Manager - Data Centre Infrastructure
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering function, supporting the delivery and operation of large-scale renewable-powered data centres. This is a senior role within a fast-growing global data centre and infrastructure business. You will oversee engineering across electrical, high voltage, mechanical, civil/structural, controls, asset management and commissioning disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of senior engineers and technical leads
- Act as the primary technical authority for major Australian projects
- Oversee engineering design, technical governance and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate engineering delivery across consultants, EPC contractors, OEMs and vendors
- Manage technical risks, design changes and cross-discipline interface issues
- Oversee testing, commissioning, energisation and handover to operationsDevelop consistent engineering standards across the Australian portfolio
- Work closely with construction, operations, procurement and asset management teams
- Promote a strong culture of safety, technical excellence and continuous improvement
Requirements
- A degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline
- Significant engineering experience leading multidisciplinary teams on large capital projects
- Experience within data centres, energy, utilities, industrial or heavy infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of Australian engineering standards, the NCC and WHS requirements
- Experience managing engineering delivery through EPC contractors, consultants and vendors
- A solid understanding of commissioning, FAT/SAT processes and energisation readiness
- Chartered Professional Engineer status, or eligibility and willingness to obtain it
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Flexibility to travel to Australian project sites when required
