Engineering Manager – eBike Embedded SW Development (SL1) (f/m/div.)

As an Engineering Manager – eBike Embedded Software Development, you will lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering organization responsible for delivering software competencies that power the next generation of Bosch eBike products.

You will shape the long-term strategy of your organization, foster competence growth, and ensure the successful allocation and development of engineering resources across a portfolio of eBike solutions, including Drive Units, Battery Packs, Head Units, Remote Controls, Connectivity Solutions and related software platforms.

Working closely with Product Owners, Project Managers, Requirements Managers, Technical Leads and global development teams, you will create an environment where innovation, collaboration and engineering excellence can thrive.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a department of embedded software engineers and engineering professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Define and execute the organizational strategy for sustainable growth of the eBike software organization, aligned with business objectives and technology roadmaps.
  • Drive competence development initiatives, ensuring the organization possesses the skills required for current and future eBike projects.
  • Support career growth and professional development of associates through coaching, mentoring, succession planning and talent management.
  • Own workforce and capacity planning, ensuring efficient resource allocation according to business priorities and project demands.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Project Managers and Technical Leads to identify and allocate the best engineering competencies for project execution.
  • Support business growth by enabling new projects, ramp-ups and expansion into emerging product and technology areas.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and promote effective collaboration across teams, functions and international development locations.
  • Enable high-performance delivery by continuously improving engineering processes, methods, tools and organizational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and ensure execution of departmental objectives, KPIs and long-term competence roadmaps.
  • Drive hiring activities and build a strong talent pipeline to support the future growth of the eBike software organization.

Education

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification.

Experience and Know-how

  • Several years of experience in software development, preferably in embedded systems.
  • Proven leadership experience inside engineering teams
  • Experience working with embedded software development
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycles, agile methodologies and modern engineering practices.
  • Experience with resource planning, organizational development and competence management.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders such as Product Management, Project Management and Technical Leadership.
  • Knowledge of mobility, consumer electronics or eBike-related products is considered an advantage.
  • Experience in an international development environment is highly desirable.

  • Business fluent English and Portuguese, written and spoken.
