Engineering Manager Geo for Self Managed Customers
You will lead the Geo for Self-Managed Customers team and own the Geo product end to end. You will set the product roadmap and execution direction with the Product Manager, guide technical strategy, and manage the reliability, correctness, and performance of Geo replication for disaster recovery. You will hire and develop engineers, support distributed collaboration, deliver improvements to the shared Geo codebase, and maintain working relationships with subject-matter experts. You will build operational runbooks and guardrails, respond to escalations, measure delivery and operational performance, and participate in the incident-management on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the roadmap and execution for the Geo product serving Self-Managed customers.
- Hire and develop a high-performing engineering team.
- Own the reliability, correctness, and performance of Geo replication.
- Deliver bug fixes, API extensions, and new capabilities to the shared Geo codebase.
- Maintain relationships with Geo subject-matter experts in Dedicated Migrations and Resilience teams.
- Build and maintain runbooks, guardrails, and reviews.
- Ensure high-quality, timely responses to Geo-related escalations.
- Define, track, and report delivery and operational metrics.
- Participate in the Incident Management on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Proven track record of building and owning large-scale distributed services.
- Technical depth to contribute to architecture and guide technical strategy.
- Experience driving operational excellence for services with 99.99% SLOs.
- Experience using AI tooling to improve team productivity.
- Experience building and managing high-performing, accountable teams.
- Ability to drive complex projects without a dedicated TPM.
- Experience leading distributed and remote teams effectively.
