The Role\:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for the oversight of the hotel engineering operations. This includes interior, exterior preventative maintenance and driving our overall guest room working order score. This person must be knowledgeable in HVAC, Refrigeration, Electrical, Kitchen Equipment, Safety Training, Scheduling Contractors, Reviewing Financials and oversight of the department. The Engineering Manager is to provide technical and administrative assistance to the property and to provide updates to the Director of Engineering on the daily operational aspects of the Engineering Department.
Key Responsibilities\:
- Strong and professional leadership to include problem solving skills. Administrative and interpersonal skills a must. A guest driven, team player with a positive attitude.
- Coordination, oversight and implementation of preventative maintenance programs for guestroom, public areas, mechanical equipment and safety systems to include all documentation and record keeping, and scheduling.
- Proficient in Occupational Health and Safety Standards, team management, and reports. Management of all Hyatt mandated programs (i.e. Lock out Tag out, Legionella, Moisture Control etc.)
- Management of the inventory of parts and supplies to include purchase order processing within Hyatt’s system.
- Align within annual maintenance budget.
- Good knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, chilled and condenser water components, boilers, electric power distribution, plumbing and drainage systems.
- Oversight of all building mechanical systems to include building automation, and energy and water management.
- Ensure prompt and immediate response for maintenance requests for both guests and colleagues.
- Focus on improving efficiency, profitability and service levels guiding colleagues to support and practice Hyatt’s Culture of Care and Values.
- Project management of all assigned capital projects to include annual assisting in capital planning for future years.
- Thorough understanding and monitoring of the hotel fire alarm system, emergency evacuation procedures, and disaster recovery.
- Work with the Area Director of Engineering to recruit and develop Engineering colleagues balancing operational needs of the department.
