Engineering Manager - Mobile Development

We are looking for an Engineering Manager - Mobile Development to lead iOS and Android teams delivering secure, reliable, client-focused mobile apps. You will balance people leadership with delivery ownership, partnering with Product, UX, Architecture, Quality Engineering, Security, and Platform teams across the lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow iOS, Android, and cross-platform mobile engineers
• Own end-to-end mobile delivery across discovery, architecture, development, testing, release, and production support
• Partner with Product and UX to shape roadmaps, priorities, estimates, and release plans
• Define mobile architecture, coding standards, and reusable engineering patterns
• Guide technical choices across native iOS/Swift, Android/Kotlin, and cross-platform frameworks such as React Native or Flutter
• Ensure consistent user experiences across device types, OS versions, and screen sizes
• Oversee integrations with APIs, identity platforms, payments, analytics, notifications, and third-party SDKs
• Drive automated unit, integration, UI, accessibility, performance, and security testing
• Manage mobile CI/CD pipelines including code signing, certificates, provisioning profiles, and environment configurations
• Govern Apple App Store and Google Play submissions, reviews, phased rollouts, and rollback procedures
• Monitor application performance metrics such as crash-free sessions, startup time, network reliability, and client feedback
• Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and preventive improvement actions for production issues
• Plan team capacity, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career growth
• Coordinate dependencies across distributed teams, platform groups, and external vendors
• Evaluate AI-assisted development and testing capabilities to improve mobile engineering productivity

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Approximately 10+ years of software-development experience, including 7+ years in mobile development and 4+ years in engineering leadership
• Expert-level skills in either iOS/Swift or Android/Kotlin with practical working knowledge of the other platform
• Hands-on experience taking mobile apps through Apple App Store and Google Play release processes
• Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM, Clean Architecture, and modular design
• Proven experience with REST/GraphQL APIs, authentication, secure storage, push notifications, and mobile analytics
• Working knowledge of mobile CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and application-security practices
• Background leading Agile, cross-functional, and geographically distributed teams
• Strong stakeholder-management, communication, and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

• Background in financial services, payments, or another regulated industry
• Knowledge of mobile payment technologies, digital wallets, biometrics, and device authentication
• Experience with React Native, Flutter, or Kotlin Multiplatform
• Familiarity with App Store Connect, Google Play Console, Firebase, feature flags, and mobile-release automation
• Knowledge of OWASP Mobile Application Security standards
