Engineering Manager - Mobile Development

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager – Mobile Development to lead iOS and Android engineering teams responsible for delivering secure, reliable and customer-focused mobile applications. This role combines people leadership, mobile technology expertise and delivery accountability while partnering with Product, UX, Architecture, Quality Engineering, Security and Platform teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop iOS, Android and cross-platform mobile engineers
  • Own mobile delivery across discovery, architecture, development, testing, release and production support
  • Partner with Product and UX teams to define roadmaps, priorities, estimates and release plans
  • Establish mobile architecture, coding standards and reusable development patterns
  • Guide decisions involving native iOS/Swift, Android/Kotlin and cross-platform frameworks such as React Native or Flutter
  • Ensure consistent user experiences across devices, operating-system versions and screen sizes
  • Oversee integrations with APIs, identity platforms, payments, analytics, notifications and third-party SDKs
  • Drive automated unit, integration, UI, accessibility, performance and security testing
  • Manage mobile CI/CD pipelines, code signing, certificates, provisioning profiles and environment configurations
  • Govern Apple App Store and Google Play submission, review, phased rollout and rollback processes
  • Monitor application performance, crash-free sessions, startup time, network reliability and customer feedback
  • Lead production-incident response, root-cause analysis and preventive improvements
  • Plan team capacity, hiring, onboarding, performance management and career development
  • Coordinate dependencies across distributed teams, platform groups and external vendors
  • Evaluate AI-assisted development and testing capabilities to improve mobile engineering productivity

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Approximately 7+ years of software-development experience, including 5+ years in mobile development and 3+ years in engineering leadership
  • Expertise in either iOS/Swift or Android/Kotlin and working knowledge of the other platform
  • Experience managing mobile applications through Apple App Store and Google Play release processes
  • Understanding of mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM, Clean Architecture and modular design
  • Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs, authentication, secure storage, push notifications and mobile analytics
  • Knowledge of mobile CI/CD, automated testing, observability and application-security practices
  • Experience leading Agile, cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
  • Strong stakeholder-management, communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

  • Background in financial services, payments or another regulated industry
  • Knowledge of mobile payment technologies, digital wallets, biometrics and device authentication
  • Experience with React Native, Flutter or Kotlin Multiplatform
  • Familiarity with App Store Connect, Google Play Console, Firebase, feature flags and mobile-release automation
  • Knowledge of OWASP Mobile Application Security standards
