We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Engineering Manager. This position reports to VP of Technology & PD with a dotter line to VP & GM Marine MPS, and will work in Vancouver, BC.

Dometic Marine’s headquarters are located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The facility develops and manufactures advanced mechatronic products for the recreational marine industry. The mission of the Mobile Power Solutions business is to deliver smart, reliable, and efficient operation of high-power equipment, enabling customers to enjoy boating with confidence and ease. Our quiet, compact DC power technology enhances convenience and comfort, creating an intuitive ecosystem that seamlessly connects power generation, storage, and loads.

As Engineering Manager, you will play a key leadership role in shaping the future of marine power solutions. You will oversee, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and customer technical support staff, while driving innovation in electronic product development. Collaborating closely with the VP of Technology and Product Development, as well as the Product Management team, you will plan and manage program resources, budgets, and schedules across local and global initiatives. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with performance and safety standards. Product areas include fixed-mount power converters, lithium-ion battery integration, alternators, digital switching, and both wired and wireless connectivity solutions for boats.

General Responsibilities

  • Lead product design engineering and test activities, collaborating with Product Management, Quality, Operations, Sourcing, and customers to deliver new products and product improvements.
  • Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing engineering team through talent development, performance management, and succession planning
  • Plan and manage engineering resources, schedules, budgets, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful program execution
  • Lead the design, development, verification, and regulatory compliance of products, assemblies, and components for new and existing products
  • Drive technology strategy, innovation, market opportunity assessment, prototyping, and intellectual property development
  • Execute and govern the product development lifecycle in accordance with Dometic processes, standards, and quality requirements, such as functional requirement analysis, system architecting, DFMEA, DVP&R, PPAP
  • Foster technical excellence, cross-functional collaboration, customer support, and continuous improvement across the organization
  • Perform other duties and undertake special projects assigned by supervisor

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of product development and/or manufacturing engineering experience, including electronics products
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership experience managing and developing technical teams
  • Strong expertise in power electronics, battery systems, and embedded product development
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and firmware product development
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional product development from concept through production
  • Strong project planning, estimation, and technical mentorship skills
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize cost, performance, quality, and customer deliveries

The salary for this position ranges from $138,000 CAD to $155,000 CAD per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
