Acting as a technical lead for designated sub-systems, you'll oversee contractor activities across design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning, ensuring solutions are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements.

Working closely with contractors, discipline engineers, and key stakeholders, you'll review technical submissions, manage interfaces, coordinate design changes, and help resolve complex engineering challenges. You'll monitor progress, provide technical assurance, support risk and safety reviews, and drive delivery performance across the project lifecycle.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a hands-on role in one of Ireland's most transformative infrastructure projects, helping deliver innovative transport solutions that will benefit Dublin for generations to come.

You will

  • Act as the technical lead for designated sub-systems, overseeing contractor activities across design, procurement, installation, testing, and delivery.
  • Review technical submissions, system architectures, interface requirements, and equipment and material approvals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Manage technical interfaces, RFIs, design changes, and coordination between contractors to support efficient project delivery.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks and issues, and implement solutions to maintain programme momentum.
  • Support design reviews, technical assurance activities, and workshops covering safety, operability, maintainability, hazards, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with Functional Discipline Engineers to ensure technical requirements are effectively integrated across all disciplines.
  • Provide performance metrics, technical reporting, and clear updates to senior programme stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, schedules, interface documentation, and systems engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure consistent application of quality processes, procedures, and engineering standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of safe, high-quality railway systems from design through to installation and commissioning.

What we are looking for you to demonstrate…

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards chartership) or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • Proven track record in assuring design deliverables, including reports, layouts, schematics, and calculations within multidisciplinary rail projects.
  • Background in a similar role on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Experienced in site surveys, site inspections, and asset condition assessments.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing design resources and coordinating deliverable outputs.
  • Strong understanding of project controls and technical report writing.
