Engineering Manager, SVBU

Hendrickson is seeking an Engineering Supervisor or Manager for their Specialty Vehicles Business Unit in Woodridge, IL. This individual will provide management and direction for all new product programs and new concept development, utilizing the Product Planning and Development Process in the Business Unit.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide timely program completion.
• Provide leadership in creating innovative product designs and developing them through Proof of Concept.
• Provide technical input and participates with the Director of Engineering and marketing personnel to identify opportunities and define product programs.
• Actively participate in developing and tracking the annual department budget and has the responsibility to control labor, material, and testing costs associated with new product programs and concept development.
• Provide continuous improvement through employee development, process improvement and elimination of waste, and effectively manages technical professionals, providing leadership, coaching, and opportunities for employees to develop. Help to assure safety in the office and laboratory.
• Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will possess:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, agricultural, or aeronautical engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive, preferably truck, chassis system design and /or development.
• Demonstrated experience in the structural design of vehicle chassis systems and components, including fatigue analysis and life prediction techniques.
• Formal skills training in team dynamics, problem solving techniques, and leadership.

This role will be filled as a supervisor or manager depending on the skills and experience of the chosen candidate. For those to be considered for the manager level position, 5+ years of supervisory experience is required.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the salary range for these positions is $115,000-160,000. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, qualifications, and other job-related criteria. This pay range is provided to ensure transparency and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
