  • Address performance concerns and workplace behavior issues promptly, constructively, and consistently.

  • Monitor employee engagement, fatigue, workload, and shift-related health indicators to help prevent burnout, attrition, and operational risks.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Capability Ledger records for every direct report and assess individual skills and competency gaps.

  • Develop and maintain structured training plans aligned with individual development goals and operational requirements.

  • Rotate between assigned shift bands, including night shifts, in coordination with the other Engineering People Manager.

  • Lead onboarding for new hires and Academy graduates, covering technical environments, tools, operational processes, and the practical demands of shift-based work.

  • Participate in recruitment and selection activities for the engineering team and identify high-potential engineers to develop internal succession plans.

About you

  • At least 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or a closely related engineering discipline.

  • At least 2 years of experience in people management, engineering team leadership, or a comparable supervisory role.

  • Working knowledge of Linux, Kubernetes, at least one major public cloud platform, observability tools, and incident management processes.

  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience, with evidence of engineers who have developed their skills or progressed in their careers under your leadership.

  • Willingness and availability to rotate across shift bands, including night shifts, within a 24/7 operating environment.

  • Experience managing performance, workplace behavior, attendance, team collaboration, and employee development.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to conduct difficult performance or behavioral conversations constructively and professionally.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
