Job Description
The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily operations of the engineering department to ensure all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems are well-maintained and functioning efficiently. This role supports the Chief Engineer in maintaining safety, reliability, and operational excellence across the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily engineering operations, including maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Assign tasks and monitor the performance of engineering team members.
- Ensure all hotel equipment, systems, and facilities operate efficiently and safely.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.
- Assist in implementing preventive maintenance schedules and tracking system performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and hotel policies.
- Coordinate with other departments to support operational needs and minimize disruptions.
- Maintain proper records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status.
- Assist in inventory control of engineering supplies, tools, and spare parts.
- Support energy-saving initiatives and sustainability programs.
- Act as the point of contact in the absence of the Chief Engineer when required.
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems.
- Good understanding of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations.
- Basic computer skills and ability to handle maintenance reporting systems.
- Good command of English (spoken and written).
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations.
- Physically fit and willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
