Engineering Team Lead
Location: Tel Aviv (IL)
Experience Level: Management
Description
Most banks are still held back by massive mainframe systems built decades ago. We build the modern, next-generation architecture that lets them finally move off legacy infrastructure. The backoffice platform your team builds is a critical part of this ecosystem—it is the core engine that allows financial institutions to manage, monitor, and run these new modern systems.
As an Engineering Team Lead, you will play a critical role in designing, delivering, and maintaining software that powers this transition—where reliability, precision, and performance are paramount. You will guide an agile team of full-stack engineers, balancing technical system architecture with hands-on development and people mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and validate robust backoffice platforms, complex business workflows, and testing infrastructure using TypeScript across React and Node.js.
- Provide technical guidance, architecture mentorship, and rigorous code reviews to team members.
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to transform complex banking workflows and ambiguous operational needs into clear, actionable functional specifications.
- Work with the team to establish and promote high standards for code quality, developer experience, and engineering excellence.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, ensuring solutions are delivered effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software development experience, including time spent leading or mentoring developers in an agile environment.
- Deep proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript across both frontend (React) and backend (Node.js) environments.
- Experience working on product cores, engines, backoffice dashboards, or data-intensive infrastructure software is a strong advantage.
- Experience in environments with a low margin for error (e.g., fintech, core banking operations, or medical applications) is a plus.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration frameworks like Temporal (used for long-running processes) is also a plus
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills, with an eye for identifying bottlenecks in data processing.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
