Engineering Team Leader – Data, API & Quality
You will lead and further develop the cross‑functional Data, API & Quality domain, combining people‑centered leadership with a strong affinity for technology and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Development: Coach, guide, and develop employees within the cross‑functional domain; foster collaboration across teams and departments; create an inspiring work environment that encourages innovation, entrepreneurship, and ownership; support Functional Leads in achieving their objectives.
- Coordination and Follow‑Up: Maintain an overview of all ongoing projects, initiatives, and priorities; closely monitor open actions, issues, risks, and improvement initiatives; ensure a structured and well‑planned approach to domain activities; monitor project progress and ensure proper alignment between business and IT.
- Analysis and Continuous Improvement: Perform high‑level analyses and quickly gain insight into technical situations and challenges; constructively challenge existing ways of working and solutions and propose improvements; actively monitor market trends and technological innovations, translating them into opportunities for the organization; contribute to the implementation of modern technologies and new ways of working.
- Stakeholder Management and Communication: Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders—from technical IT professionals to commercial and business‑oriented colleagues; present complex topics clearly and convincingly to diverse audiences; manage differing interests and organizational sensitivities diplomatically; act as a bridge between business and technology, ensuring optimal collaboration.
Qualifications
- Experience leading IT teams, preferably in a multidisciplinary or cross‑functional environment.
- Affinity for Data, APIs, and ideally Software Testing.
- Understanding of modern IT architectures and technology ecosystems.
- Experience in the insurance sector is an advantage, but not required.
- Ability to maintain a strategic helicopter view while staying connected to operational reality.
- Structured and organized work style.
- Strong analytical skills with a pragmatic, hands‑on mindset.
- Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and openness to new technologies and ideas.
- Proactive initiative and entrepreneurial, results‑oriented attitude.
- Strong people skills and ability to inspire, motivate, and coach employees.
- Excellent command of English and good knowledge of Dutch; knowledge of French is a plus.
