Engineering Tech Lead for Betsson Group's Player Management area in Budapest: a hands-on lead who drives technical design, standards and delivery of microservices while mentoring engineers. - Driving technical excellence in products
- Facilitating technical design, decisions, troubleshooting and delivery
- Supporting managers in building world class engineering teams
- Researching new technologies
- Leading technical investigations and developing POCs
- Identifying and championing technical improvements for roadmap consideration
- Introducing standards and best practices in the area
- Working closely with architects to ensure architectural direction and standards alignment
- Developing and maintaining strong understanding of business and products
- Taking lead on technical design decisions
- Taking active, hands-on role with technical initiatives and issues
- Supporting new product development by producing POCs and documented technical designs
- Researching new technologies and assessing potential application
- Reviewing major changes to ensure standards
- Serving as key technical point of contact for the area
- Collaborating with product, architecture and engineering colleagues
- Participating in technical interviews and providing technical feedback
- Coaching and mentoring engineers
- Participating in team ceremonies such as planning and refinement
- Leading technical trainings to share knowledge and improve expertise
- Strong technical background and understanding of non-functional requirements
- Expertise with designing and implementing distributed microservices
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with highly cacheable RESTful APIs
- Deep understanding of real-time messaging patterns
- Experience with Kafka and RabbitMQ
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Couchbase
- Working experience with observability practices for highly available systems
- Experience with Grafana and OpenTelemetry
- Experience coaching and mentoring people
- Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure
- Technical proficiency with .NET technology stack
