ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL)

You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) in the Submarine Piping and Mechanical Branch (Code 265) in the Fluid/Mechanical Engineering and Planning Division (Code 260) of the Engineering and Planning Department (Code 200) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

You will provide technical guidance and technical leadership for all project specifications, design calculations, working plan development, and surveillance.

You will prepare technical work documents in the form of Job Summaries, Task Group Instructions, Deficiency Logs, and Deficiency Reports.

You will evaluate the cost in days required to prepare each plan or other design package.

You will provide technical guidance for the checking of technical work documents and material specifications, and other documents conformity with the specification and quality requirements.

You will analyze reports submitted by the shops as a result of test and examination of equipment for repairs.

You will review the completed test results on systems under your cognizance and make the determination of the adequacy of the results.
