Summary

Designs and writes secondary-level English curriculum materials, lesson plans, and assessments for students aged 12-16, ensuring alignment with educational standards and student needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop curriculum materials, lesson plans, and resources for secondary school students (Secondary 1 to 4 or equivalent)

  • Write clear, engaging, and age-appropriate content aligned with learning objectives and curriculum standards

  • Review and revise existing materials based on student performance data, teacher feedback, and best practices

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, editors, and instructional designers to ensure content accuracy and quality

  • Incorporate current approaches and differentiated instruction strategies into materials

  • Develop assessments, rubrics, and answer keys aligned with lesson objectives

  • Stay updated on curriculum trends, education policy changes, and best practices in secondary education

  • Provide input on scope and sequence planning for courses/programs

  • Support quality assurance processes, including proofreading and fact-checking content

Requirements

  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in secondary curriculum development and/or educational content writing

  • Prior teaching experience at the secondary school level or class based setting is required

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field

  • Strong command of English language and grammar, with excellent writing and editing skills

  • Solid understanding of secondary school curriculum frameworks

  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, accessible content for students

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well in a team environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
