Designs and writes secondary-level English curriculum materials, lesson plans, and assessments for students aged 12-16, ensuring alignment with educational standards and student needs.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop curriculum materials, lesson plans, and resources for secondary school students (Secondary 1 to 4 or equivalent)
Write clear, engaging, and age-appropriate content aligned with learning objectives and curriculum standards
Review and revise existing materials based on student performance data, teacher feedback, and best practices
Collaborate with subject matter experts, editors, and instructional designers to ensure content accuracy and quality
Incorporate current approaches and differentiated instruction strategies into materials
Develop assessments, rubrics, and answer keys aligned with lesson objectives
Stay updated on curriculum trends, education policy changes, and best practices in secondary education
Provide input on scope and sequence planning for courses/programs
Support quality assurance processes, including proofreading and fact-checking content
Requirements
Minimum 4–5 years of experience in secondary curriculum development and/or educational content writing
Prior teaching experience at the secondary school level or class based setting is required
Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field
Strong command of English language and grammar, with excellent writing and editing skills
Solid understanding of secondary school curriculum frameworks
Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, accessible content for students
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well in a team environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
