Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead and support translation, review, and linguistic teams, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to deliver high-quality work.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, mentoring, and foster professional development opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for linguistic, terminological, and quality-related issues.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and best practices across the language team.
  • Linguistic Quality
  • Ensure linguistic quality, consistency, and adherence to client-specific guidelines across all localization projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve linguistic assets, including glossaries, style guides, and translation memories for English to Brazilian Portuguese localization.
  • Perform linguistic reviews, quality audits, and root cause analysis of quality issues.
  • Provide linguistic guidance and recommendations to translators and reviewers to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives based on feedback, metrics, and project outcomes.
  • Process and Technology Improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement of translation and localization workflows.
  • Promote the effective use of CAT tools and localization technologies.
  • Support the adoption and optimization of Machine Translation (MT), AI-driven solutions, and post-editing processes while maintaining quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and innovation within linguistic operations.

Operational Support

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Account Managers, and other stakeholders to define linguistic requirements and localization strategies.
  • Assess linguistic complexity, resource needs, and project requirements during project planning phases.
  • Monitor quality and productivity metrics and recommend improvements when necessary.
  • Support resource planning and contribute to the development of internal and external linguistic talent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Languages, Communications, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in translation, localization, or quality assurance are a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in the localization industry, with strong expertise in translation workflows, CAT tools, and localization best practices.
  • 1+ years of experience serving as a Lead,Language Lead, or in another position involving coordination and mentoring responsibilities.
  • Native-level proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese (PT-BR).
  • Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English.
  • Demonstrated experience translating, reviewing, and localizing content from English into Brazilian Portuguese.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and productivity tools.
  • Proven mentoring, coaching, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Advanced proficiency with CAT tools such as Trados Studio, MemoQ, XTM, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with Machine Translation (MT), AI-assisted translation technologies, and Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE).
  • Strong understanding of Translation Management Systems (TMS) and localization processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and implement process and quality improvements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the video game localization industry is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of linguistic quality standards and localization best practices.
  • Ability to provide constructive linguistic feedback and mentor translators and reviewers.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to balance quality, efficiency, and business needs.
  • Experience working with distributed or remote linguistic teams.
  • Strong understanding of Brazilian culture and localization nuances for the Brazilian market.
  • Passion for languages, localization, and continuous improvement.
