Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Application Modernization Architect with deep expertise in Java/J2EE, Microsoft Azure, microservices architecture and enterprise application modernization. The ideal candidate will lead large-scale transformation initiatives, modernizing legacy monolithic applications into scalable, secure and cloud-native solutions.

The role requires strong architectural leadership, hands-on technical understanding, database modernization expertise and experience working with enterprise clients and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end application modernization initiatives, transforming legacy Java/J2EE monolithic applications into scalable microservices-based architectures.
• Define enterprise architecture strategies using Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, REST APIs and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Architect, deploy and optimize scalable, reliable and secure applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Modernize legacy database components, including Oracle PL/SQL and Pro*C, by migrating to Java or modern technology stacks.
• Lead database modernization and migration initiatives, particularly Oracle Exadata/ExaCC to PostgreSQL or other cloud-based databases.
• Design and implement microservices, messaging and integration solutions using Kafka, Azure messaging services and enterprise integration patterns.
• Drive DevSecOps practices, CI/CD automation and containerization using Docker, Kubernetes and Azure DevOps.
• Define modernization roadmaps, integration strategies, rollout plans and transition approaches.
• Evaluate application architecture and modernization opportunities using tools such as CAST and vFunction.
• Ensure adherence to security, performance, scalability, cloud cost optimization and enterprise architecture standards.
• Lead architectural reviews, provide technical recommendations and mentor development teams.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, account managers and business stakeholders to manage technical expectations, project timelines and delivery outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 20+ years of experience in software architecture, enterprise application development and solution design.
• Strong expertise in Java, J2EE, Struts, JSP and modern Java frameworks.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Proven experience in legacy application modernization and monolith-to-microservices transformation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, serverless architecture, API management and DevSecOps.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins and SonarQube.

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
• Experience in BFSI or other large enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with Agile and SAFe methodologies.
• Experience leading client-facing architecture and modernization programs.
