Summary

An enterprise architect supporting the Chief Architect, leading disaster recovery and business continuity architecture for critical facilities (e.g., 911 centers and backup sites), shaping secure remote access and network segmentation, improving Active Directory/identity and observability, and briefing CIO-level and agency stakeholders.

Enterprise Architect to support the Chief Architect.

  1. Lead key disaster recovery and business continuity efforts, including architecture for critical facilities such as 911 and backup sites.
  2. Assess the current state (RTO/RPO, DR plans, risks) and define the target state with clear, actionable DR architectures.
  3. Shape secure remote access and perimeter defense patterns with security and network teams—focusing on principles and capabilities, not just products.
  4. Partner with domain admins to improve Active Directory and identity architecture and help define roles and responsibilities (RACI) for core services.
  5. Guide network segmentation and the retirement of legacy network overlays to improve security and resilience.
  6. Work with application, database, and infrastructure teams to improve observability—so issues are detected early and recovery is faster.
  7. Translate technical risks and options into clear language for the CIO, senior leadership, and agency stakeholders, enabling informed decisions.
