Job Title: Enterprise Data Governance Lead
Work mode: Hybrid 2-3 days per week in Warsaw

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Data Governance Lead to architect, enable, and scale our enterprise data governance and stewardship capabilities. In this strategic yet hands-on role, you will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) who translates high-level governance strategy, policy, and regulatory requirements into practical, actionable processes that drive business value.

This is a pivotal role where you will orchestrate domain onboarding, coordinate stewardship activities, and lead the execution of governance initiatives. You will work closely with the Head of Enterprise Data Governance to direct our managed service providers, ensuring transparent delivery and reporting on stewardship progress and key performance indicators.

Your success will be measured by your ability to partner cross-functionally with Business, IT, Security, Legal, Privacy, and Compliance teams. Together, you will ensure our data assets are trusted, compliant, and governed—laying the foundation for advanced analytics, AI readiness, and strict regulatory adherence.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Implementation: Act as the SME in data governance, contributing to the development of the operating model, policies, standards, and best practices.

  • Drive Adoption: Lead the onboarding of new domains into our federated governance model. You will enable roles, provide training, and drive the adoption of governance processes and tools across the organization.

  • Enable Self-Service: Implement and manage an Enterprise Data Catalog & Marketplace to streamline data discovery and access for business users.

  • Influence Without Authority: Partner with cross-functional and domain teams to embed governance into daily execution. You will drive consensus, resolve conflicts, and align on approaches that balance regulatory risk, data quality, and delivery timelines.

  • Innovate with AI: Evaluate and implement AI-assisted approaches for metadata enrichment, data classification, and workflow automation to enhance efficiency.

  • Build Bridges: Cultivate and maintain trusted relationships with business, technology, security, legal, and compliance stakeholders. Facilitate structured decision discussions to align on governance strategies.

  • Report & Improve: Establish, monitor, and report on governance KPIs—including domain onboarding progress, steward engagement, metadata coverage, and service provider delivery performance.

  • Develop Frameworks: Author data policies, processes, and procedures in accordance with best-practice data management standards.

  • Pilot & Refine: Test new governance approaches, gather feedback, and champion continuous improvement.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Stewardship, or Enterprise Data Management.

  • SME in Federated Models: Proven experience as a Data Governance SME within a federated, matrixed, or enterprise-scale operating model.

  • Influencer: Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes without formal authority, evidenced by the successful adoption of governance processes and platforms across multiple domains.

  • Project Management: Experience managing data governance projects across business and technical teams, including coordinating third-party or managed service resources.

  • Platform Expertise: Hands-on experience with enterprise data governance platforms (e.g., Informatica IDMC/CDGC/CDQ/CDMP, Atlan, Alation) including domain-level enablement and training of data stewards.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of data classification, metadata management, and regulatory-aligned governance practices.

  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent ability to navigate differing priorities across Business, IT, Security, Legal, and Compliance functions.

  • Translator: A knack for translating complex governance strategy and policy into practical, executable processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Platform Focus: Hands-on experience leading the enablement and adoption of Informatica governance platforms (IDMC/CDGC/CDQ/CDMP/AXON) with data stewards across multiple functions.

  • Facilitation: Strong facilitation skills for workshops, onboarding sessions, and governance working groups.

  • Modern Tech Stacks: Experience governing "Data as a Product" within modern platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences, with familiarity of GxP, clinical trial, or R&D data environments.

  • AI Readiness: Familiarity with AI governance frameworks or data readiness requirements for ML/AI pipelines (lineage, quality thresholds, model documentation).

  • Reporting: Experience defining and reporting governance and stewardship KPIs for leadership audiences.

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CDMP, DGSP, DCAM, or equivalent are a plus.
