Discussion

With almost 50 years of impact behind us, The BUSY Group is continuing to expand our reach across employment services, education, apprenticeships, vocational training and community programs. As our organisation grows globally, so does the complexity and opportunity within our technology landscape.

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise & Solution Architect to help guide that evolution.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly influential role where you'll help shape technology strategy, modernise platforms, enable innovation, and ensure our technology investments support the next phase of growth. We're not looking for someone who wants to sit in the ivory tower producing diagrams nobody reads.

We're looking for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, solving complex problems and turning ideas into practical outcomes. Someone who can see the bigger picture while still helping teams navigate the path to get there.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Digital and Technology Officer, you'll play a key role in defining and governing enterprise architecture across The BUSY Group, while leading solution design for strategic initiatives and transformational programs.

You'll work closely with executive leaders, business stakeholders, project teams and technology partners to ensure our technology ecosystem is scalable, secure, fit-for-purpose and aligned to organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks, standards and roadmaps.
  • Create technology strategies that support organisational growth and digital transformation.
  • Lead solution architecture for major projects and business initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Guide application, data, infrastructure and integration architecture decisions.
  • Support cloud-first and modern workplace initiatives.
  • Work closely with delivery teams to ensure solutions are practical, achievable and aligned to architectural principles.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand challenges, identify opportunities and design scalable technology solutions.
  • Influence technology investment decisions and long-term planning.

Why Join The BUSY Group?

At The BUSY Group, our work changes lives. Every day we help people gain skills, find employment, complete their education and create better futures for themselves and their communities.

When you join us, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Shape technology strategy across a large and diverse international organisation.
  • Influence significant transformation and modernisation initiatives.
  • Work in an organisation with a strong social purpose and genuine community impact.
  • Collaborate with passionate and committed leaders.
  • Make your mark during an exciting period of growth and evolution.
  • Enjoy flexibility and a supportive culture.

About You

You are naturally curious, commercially minded and excited by the challenge of helping a growing organisation scale effectively.

You don't just identify problems. You find ways to solve them.

You'll bring:

  • Experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture or a similar senior technology leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success influencing enterprise-wide technology strategy.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, enterprise applications, software design and development, integration patterns, data architecture and cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience delivering architecture outcomes within complex, multi-site organisations.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • The ability to translate technical complexity into practical business solutions.
  • A proactive and outcomes-focused mindset.
  • A desire to build, improve and make things happen.
