Job Description:

The Enterprise Systems Administrator will serve as a Subject Matter Expert responsible for administering and supporting Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and cloud infrastructure environments.

The position requires hands-on experience with enterprise Windows administration, Azure and AWS cloud environments, PowerShell automation, identity and access management, infrastructure security, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, resource optimization, and technical documentation. The role is designated as essential staff and may require reporting for duty during emergencies or potential emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform Microsoft Azure Entra ID and Active Directory administration.

  • Administer enterprise Windows Server environments.

  • Develop and maintain processes to optimize Microsoft Azure resources.

  • Analyze Azure resource performance and identify resource contention.

  • Recommend infrastructure changes or upgrades to improve performance and reliability.

  • Administer and configure Azure and AWS infrastructure security.

  • Manage user and application access across Azure and AWS environments.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve Windows Server issues with minimal impact to users.

  • Write, test, and execute PowerShell scripts.

  • Automate Active Directory and Azure management activities using PowerShell.

  • Monitor server properties and infrastructure health.

  • Perform resource deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes.

  • Research and recommend technical solutions based on functional requirements.

  • Identify infrastructure process-improvement opportunities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with data center staff, IT teams, administrators, application owners, and end users.

  • Install, maintain, and support third-party applications.

  • Support virtual server and cloud environments.

  • Manage infrastructure activities supporting a large, distributed user base.

  • Assist with project scheduling and infrastructure implementation.

  • Manage and report project metrics where required.

  • Collaborate with technical programming teams.

  • Perform additional Systems Administrator responsibilities as assigned.

  • Complete required security-awareness training.

  • Comply with applicable organizational security requirements.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 5%2B years of Windows Server administration experience.

  • Minimum 3%2B years administering Windows Server 2016 or newer.

  • Minimum 3%2B years of Microsoft Azure and cloud experience.

  • Minimum 1%2B year of AWS experience.

  • Minimum 5%2B years administering:

    • Active Directory

    • Domain Name System (DNS)

    • Group Policy

  • Experience supporting Active Directory environments with 1,000%2B users.

  • Strong Microsoft Entra ID administration experience.

  • Experience writing, testing, and executing PowerShell scripts.

  • Experience using PowerShell for Azure and Active Directory administration.

  • Experience working in virtual server and cloud environments.

  • Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting third-party applications.

  • Experience troubleshooting complex Windows Server issues.

  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure access and security.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience managing projects supporting large, distributed user environments.

  • Experience developing and managing schedules across multiple projects.

  • Additional hands-on AWS Cloud experience.

  • State government project experience.

  • Experience managing and reporting project metrics in compliance with Rule 60GG-1, F.A.C.

  • Experience collaborating with technical programming teams.

  • Knowledge of Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) security standards.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA security requirements.

  • Knowledge of IT standards within criminal justice environments.

  • Knowledge of programming and data analytics.

  • Strong infrastructure security and compliance experience.

Qualifications:
  • Strong Azure, Windows Server, and Active Directory administration expertise.
