Job Title: EHS Manager Department: Human Resources
Reports To: VP, Human Resources FLSA Status: Exempt
Shift: Days Wage Range: $100,000-$125,000
Job Summary:
The EHS Manager is responsible for continuously monitoring and adapting the organization’s safety programs, and procedures, to ensure a safe and fully compliant work environment. The position manages and oversees the organization’s multi-site workplace safety, regulatory compliance, worker’s compensation, and risk reduction programs in both MN and PA. Candidate must be willing to travel occasionally to monitor, inspect, train and audit all operational manufacturing teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensures all facilities operations are compliant and follow federal, state, and local rules including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, MPCA, etc.

Partners with management to develop, prepare, and implement EHS policies and procedures across the organization.

Champions the EHS programs to promote and ensure a safe working environment. Evaluates the effectiveness of safety programs and training and develops improvements as necessary.

Leads root-cause investigations of workplace accidents, injuries, or near-misses and files required reports.

Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer work environment.

Coaches and mentors leaders/managers to build an active, accountable safety culture.

Manages all Worker’s Compensation claims on behalf of the organization.

Maintains accurate and current internal records in accordance with all Federal and local State Guidelines.

Prepares monthly data and operational reports for senior level review.

Leads and prepares the organization’s yearly Safety budget.

Tracks and reports all Safety related costs and improvements.

Ability to lead and direct teams across different functional roles within the organization.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety or equivalent job experience of at least 10 years leading large-scale manufacturing Occupational Health and Safety programs.

Strong prior history of leading management experience in print production, industrial, or manufacturing environment.

Advanced training or certification in EHS and risk management are strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of machine guarding, lockout tag out, electrical hazard training and protective procedures, ergonomics training, hazard analysis, and incident metrics.

Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.

This job operates in a hybrid office environment with exposure to a Manufacturing environment on occasion. While performing the duties of this job inside and outside the manufacturing facility/office setting, the employee is frequently exposed to normal to moderate working conditions for a hybrid office and manufacturing facility with a noise level that is usually quiet - moderate with minimal to some interruptions. The role routinely uses office equipment, software, and hardware.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, type, write, and be exposed to regular meetings, both virtually and in person. The employee may be required to stand/sit for long periods of time as well as use hands or fingers to reach or handle, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is sometimes required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will regularly lift 25lbs or more at a time. All vision abilities are required to encompass close-up work. Employees must be able to tolerate and endure extended seasonal hours and maintain alertness to meet deadlines.
Occasionally while performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to machinery and moving parts, airborne particles including paper dust and hazardous materials or fumes, which may require the use of PPE. The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, extended seasonal hours, high precarious places, and confined spaces. The nose level in some of the work environments may require the use of hearing protection.
