Palermo's is a family-owned company with a passion for great pizza and great people. As our Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager, you'll lead safety and environmental initiatives across our three Wisconsin manufacturing facilities in Milwaukee, West Milwaukee, and Jefferson.

Reporting to the Director of EH&S, you'll lead a team of EH&S Specialists and partner closely with site leadership, plant operations, and safety committees to strengthen our safety culture and advance our goal of zero injuries.

WHERE YOU'LL WORK…

This is an on-site, multi-facility leadership position supporting Palermo's three Wisconsin locations:

• Milwaukee (Canal Street): Our Villa Palermo manufacturing facility and company headquarters in Milwaukee's Menomonee River Valley.

• West Milwaukee: Our manufacturing facility supporting Palermo's expanding production operations.

• Jefferson: Our Jefferson, Wisconsin manufacturing facility.

You'll maintain a regular presence at all three locations, working closely with plant leadership and employees on the production floor. The role requires travel between facilities and occasional flexibility outside normal business hours to support incidents, audits, and regulatory inspections.

WHAT YOU'LL DO…

• Lead and strengthen a proactive, zero-injury safety culture across all three Palermo's manufacturing facilities.

• Partner with site leaders, supervisors, and safety committees to establish consistent safety expectations and accountability.

• Oversee EH&S regulatory compliance, reporting, and recordkeeping under applicable OSHA, EPA, state, and local requirements.

• Identify workplace hazards, evaluate operational risks, and implement effective prevention strategies.

• Ensure Job Hazard Analyses are completed and new equipment and processes are evaluated for safety.

• Lead safety audits, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action initiatives across all locations.

• Oversee industrial hygiene monitoring and environmental risk mitigation activities.

• Collaborate with Human Resources and site leadership on workers' compensation, return-to-work programs, and claims management.

• Develop and deliver safety training programs that support regulatory requirements and operational needs.

• Establish site-specific and company-wide EH&S metrics and scorecards to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.

• Identify and prioritize EH&S capital projects and improvement opportunities.

• Lead, coach, and develop two EH&S Specialists while promoting collaboration and sharing best practices across facilities.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING…

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety management, environmental management, or a related field.

• 5+ years of progressive EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local EH&S regulations.

• Experience implementing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and leading incident investigations.

• Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and collaborate with operational leaders and employees.

• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to travel regularly between our Milwaukee, West Milwaukee, and Jefferson facilities.

Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites, food manufacturing experience, an advanced degree, CSP or other EH&S certification, familiarity with WorkForge, RedZone, Oracle Fusion, or UKG, and bilingual communication skills are all a plus!
