Primary Responsibilities:
- Support facility decommissioning, decontamination and cease operation activities to the client manufacturing site facility
- Support high risk work programs especially confined space entry. Also, dangerous goods program and biosafety program.
- Monitor site Environmental Health Safety (EHS) operation performance to meet the EHS requirements and standards of local authority and corporate.
- Work with the site EHS Leader to implement the best management practices to ensure sustained EHS compliance.
- Support development of the EHS Management System to meet the client’s Corporate EHS requirements.
- Maintain the site EHS performance to comply with the local EHS related regulation and corporate standards and requirements.
- Provide EHS advice and walkdowns to ensure cease ops, decommissioning and potentially, demolition, to ensure that client manufacturing facility maintain zero lost time incident.
- Provide support to Integrated Process Team (IPT) as an EHS Support and attend regular IPTs meetings pertaining to EHS matters.
- Participate in accident investigations and root cause analysis as assigned.
- Perform on-site inspections and audits as scheduled.
- Support specific EHS programs as assigned (i.e. Process Safety by participating in Hazards Ops; Industrial Hygiene by performing monitoring or fit testing, etc.) and other duties as assigned by EHS Leader.
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments onsite for operations in accordance with MOM and company guidelines.
- Develop and deliver effective EHS training to employees to enhance their EHS awareness and competencies.
- Report EHS performance and inspection data in corporate system in a timely manner.
- Work as a team member to collaborate with other departments to maintain a good EHS culture on site
- Complete other projects as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environmental, Chemical, Chemical Process Engineering or other related discipline.
- Environmental Health Safety (EHS) related experience in the chemical, petrochemical or pharmaceutical industries. EHS related experience includes General EHS, Process Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Biosafety.
- Experience in any relevant role within the pharmaceutical plant operations or shopfloor such as Process Engineer or Process Technician
- Experience working on projects with contractor safety
- Possess a general understanding of machinery and equipment, piping and instrumentation, plant construction, pharmaceutical utility systems.
