Environmental Markets Program Manager

Summary

Manage decarbonization of Apple's product manufacturing at scale through environmental markets, renewable energy deals, and carbon credit procurement, collaborating cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, and Procurement.

Are you passionate about decarbonization and combating climate change? As Project Manager on Apple's Environmental Initiatives team, you will manage and drive decarbonization of Apple’s product manufacturing at scale through engagement with environmental markets.

In this role you will be part of a nimble global Operations team and will be a key contributor to Apple's strategy for supply chain decarbonization, supporting investment opportunities, market transactions and credit management for renewable energy, nature based solutions and beyond.

You will partner closely with Apple Operations, Finance and Procurement leadership to support and guide transactions in renewable energy and carbon markets to help grow carbon neutral pathways for Apple and its supply chain partners.

This dynamic role works within the Environmental Initiatives team to achieve renewable energy targets and carbon credit procurement (e.g. MWhs, MMT C02e, date online, location, etc.), support the associated project/deal pipeline and portfolio, and support sourcing and managing the environmental attribute credits (EACs) and the broader portfolio management. Cross functional collaboration is needed as the role will interact with finance, tax and accounting, legal, procurement, and government affairs.

You will work closely with subject matter experts in renewable energy deals and carbon markets to support deal development, transactions and fulfillment. Key tasks include managing the portfolio assets (ex: EACs or credits), and the associated registries where credits are housed; tracking and preparing reports on portfolio status for the team and for management; supporting due diligence on potential transaction partners or service providers; and supporting access to high-quality carbon credits for our supply chain actors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of supporting corporations with the provision of renewable energy and/or emission reduction solutions (ex: in voluntary carbon markets) for fulfillment of compliance or voluntary objectives
  • Familiarity with environmental attribute certificates in energy and carbo
  • Collaborative team player. Ready to roll up sleeves, as needed, to support several projects and programs
  • Strong communicator, able to convey difficult topics in simple terms and get to the heart of matters
  • Occasional travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in project finance or business development a plus
  • Experience in managing cross-functional stakeholders, negotiating strategic partnerships, and identifying high-quality investment opportunities that deliver both financial returns and measurable climate impact is a plus
  • Familiarity with voluntary and/or compliance carbon markets and related quality standards and policy (ex: GHGP, ICVCM, SBTi) is helpful
