Environmental Protection Specialist
About the Position: Serves as installation manager for the development/review of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents.
Conduct Hazardous and Solid Waste evaluations of proposed construction, training, and other installation projects for environmental requirements.
Negotiate contracts with consulting firms to reduce unnecessary costs to the government and coordinates with appropriate environmental agencies.
Provide analysis of environmental laws, policies, and regulations as they apply to Solid and Hazardous Waste.
Perform duties as as the Project Lead for the Hazardous and Solid Waste compliance process.
Participate in site selection evaluations,
Assure environmental compliance related to installation construction, demolition, renovation, training, and other types of installation projects/activities.
Write, edit, or oversee contracted Hazardous and Solid Waste document completions.
Review contract submittal, drawing, and schedule.
Assist other environmental programs and projects.
Serve as the Project Lead for the Hazardous and Solid Waste compliance process.
Represents the installation in scoping meetings, workshops, public meetings, such as conservation district hearings for permitted activities .
