Environmental Services Assistant
Summary
Perform cleaning, patient transport, and waste management duties in a hospital setting, ensuring infection control and safety compliance during day and night shifts.
- Part time positions available under Environmental services assistant as cleaner (across the hospital), Orderly (inc. internal Patient Transport) for Night Shift from 2345hrs to 0745hrs or 2300 to 0700 and across the day as well.
Reporting to the Manager - Environmental Service, you’ll be working within a fast-paced team-focused environment within our Joondalup Health Campus.
Depending on the shifts allocation your duties may include any of the below area, but are not limited to:
- The Enviro Service Assistant is responsible in providing a safe, clean Ward/Unit environment in accordance with Infection Control and Occupational Safety and Health regulations.
- Perform all cleaning tasks, which includes decontamination of beds and cleaning of bathroom, Toilets, rooms, work Area, Tile Cleaning, Cleanup tools, Room Cleaning, Professional Cleaning, Wet Cleaning etc.
- Perform Line Porter duties in Laundry including receiving the linen stock, loading the trolleys for different areas within the hospital, delivering linen trolleys to wards, collecting soiled linen from wards back to the laundry.
- Perform Orderly duties: Ensure safe and efficient transfer of patients around the hospital, pick up and deliver items requested by departments within the hospital.
- Under direction and supervision, you will provide effective support contributing to the operational management of the hospital.
- You will be expected to deliver excellent customer service and be required to assist in stock maintenance and control.
- You will demonstrate a good work ethic that includes punctuality, integrity, respect for others, and a commitment to professional practice.
Additionally, you will:
- Perform all waste management duties and soiled linen tasks (Laundry Management), decontaminate all bins, and securely manage the Clinical Waste [Desirable]
- Identifies risks and hazards and reports promptly to ensure that safety measures are maintained.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as required and requested by management.
Your Skills and Experience
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise workloads.
- Completion of all the required training, or willingness to undertake.
- Knowledge and understanding of material data safety sheets [Desirable]
- Experience in cleaning services in a hospital or healthcare setting [Desirable].
- You are dedicated to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and infection control.
- Flexible to work a 14-day roster with a variety of shifts available [Desirable]
