Environmental & Social Monitoring Specialist

This position is located in the Office of Development Policy of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). In this role you will serve as a monitoring specialist responsible for identifying, collecting, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative environmental and social (E&S) performance data to document, assess, and track the E&S performance of active projects in DFC's portfolio.

As a Environmental & Social Monitoring Specialist, you will: Monitor the environmental and social performance of DFC projects via desk-based and on-site monitoring by partnering with the Environmental and Social Risk Assessment Financial Intermediaries and Direct Investment teams. Develop and update internal templates and tools for environmental and social monitoring and reporting. Assist with development of procedures for escalation of non-compliances, corrective action and other project follow-up actions and documentation. Collect, synthesize, and report monitoring outputs and data from desk-based and on-site project monitoring. Identify key environmental and social metrics and indicators for data collection and reporting; define targets and Key Performance Indicators for DFC portfolios. Produce high quality written reports and delivers oral reports outlining project, sector, or portfolio findings and recommendations. Assist with developing and maintaining portfolio-level monitoring and tracking systems and with developing system reports on environmental and social compliance status and monitoring activities.
