Epic Patient Access, RTE & Referrals Analyst
Summary
Configures and supports Epic Patient Access, Real-Time Eligibility, and Referrals to streamline patient intake, insurance checks, and referral workflows in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and support the Epic Patient Access, RTE, and Referrals applications.
- Gather, analyze, and document business and operational requirements from patient access, scheduling, and revenue cycle stakeholders.
- Design, build, test, validate, and deploy Epic Patient Access enhancements and system changes.
- Configure and support patient registration, insurance verification, eligibility checks, referral workflows, and authorization processes.
- Support Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) transactions and troubleshoot payer connectivity and eligibility issues.
- Build and maintain referral workflows, work queues, scheduling rules, and insurance-related configurations.
- Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely production support.
- Participate in Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization initiatives, and enhancement projects.
- Perform unit testing, integrated testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Develop and maintain build documentation, workflow diagrams, technical specifications, and support documentation.
- Collaborate with other Epic application analysts to ensure seamless integration with Cadence, Prelude, Resolute, MyChart, and other Epic modules.
- Ensure all configurations comply with Epic best practices, healthcare regulations, and organizational governance standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Epic Patient Access, Real-Time Eligibility (RTE), and Referrals.
- Epic Patient Access Certification is mandatory.
- Experience in Epic build, configuration, implementation, testing, and production support.
- Strong understanding of patient registration, scheduling, insurance eligibility verification, referrals, prior authorizations, and front-end revenue cycle workflows.
- Experience supporting integrated Epic applications.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Mandatory Requirements
- Epic Patient Access Certification (Mandatory)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant Epic Patient Access experience
- Experience supporting RTE (Real-Time Eligibility) and Referrals
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in U.S. healthcare environments.
- Knowledge of patient access, insurance verification, referral management, authorizations, and revenue cycle operations.
- Experience integrating Patient Access with Epic Cadence, Prelude, Resolute, MyChart, and other Epic applications.
- Understanding of Epic implementation methodology and healthcare interoperability.
- Strong documentation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
