Description

ReD’s scientific portfolio is growing rapidly. We are seeking a new hire with epidemiological training to work closely with the Partners and Science Director to deliver and expand our work with our philanthropic, life science, and pharmaceutical clients.
Work will include delivering the next phase of The Vaccine Trust Project. Through this work, we apply our trust framework and measurement tools to vaccination research and implementation. We work with worldwide partners to design studies, analyze data, and translate findings into actionable recommendations that can increase vaccine uptake. Candidates should also be interested in the wider work at ReD - and how their skills could complement what we do.
The wider science portfolio includes advising leading research and scientific organizations, conducting evidence synthesis, and supporting clients publishing across a range of formats. The successful candidate will contribute to all these activities and will have opportunities to shape the work according to their skills and interests.
The ideal candidate will be confident and experienced with the core epidemiological toolkit. They will be interested in developing innovative methods and applying them creatively to new contexts. Their work will have a direct impact on some of the biggest global challenges. The successful candidate will have significant opportunities for mentorship alongside professional development in both science and consultancy.
The role is Copenhagen based.

The Process:
Candidates should submit their CV and a short (1-2 pages) cover letter. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview with the Science Director. This will be followed by a culture and fit interview with the COO. From this, a small pool of candidates will be invited for a Partner Interview before a final decision is made.
Candidates will have some relevant experience in the listed fields, for example they may hold a relevant MSc or have recently completed a PhD.

Core skills include:
  • Applying core epidemiological methods to research datasets, including, for example, descriptive statistics, regression, and psychometric analysis.
  • The design and interpretation of observational studies and clinical trials.
  • Cleaning and managing data to ensure it is suitable for epidemiological analysis.
  • Writing and implementing statistical analysis plans.
  • Conducting statistical analyses in R (or language that they could rapidly transfer).
We are seeking candidates who are interested in learning and developing on the job. Some desirable skills in addition to the core skills listed above include:
  • Experience working in low- and middle-income country contexts.
  • Experience with monitoring and evaluation.
  • Strong evidence synthesis skills, such as conducting systematic reviews.
  • Experience with mixed-methods research.
  • A record of academic publication.
  • Demonstrated scientific writing, grant writing, and presentation abilities.
