EPM IT Finance Solution Architect

Position Summary

The EPM IT Lead / Finance Systems Solution Architect is accountable for the technical leadership, solution integrity, delivery enablement, and operational stability of Bombardier’s Enterprise Performance Management landscape, with OneStream as the strategic Corporate Performance Management platform. This is an IT architecture and platform leadership role, not a pure finance functional role. The role partners closely with Finance, Accounting, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Data & Analytics, PMO, vendors, and system integrators to deliver scalable, secure, auditable, and supportable EPM capabilities.

The role supports Finance capabilities such as FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, management reporting, close, account reconciliations, transaction matching, scenario analysis, and finance analytics, while ensuring strong integration with SAP and enterprise data platforms.

What are your contributions to the team?

1. Lead EPM Solution Architecture - Own Platform Integration & Data Architecture

  • Own the end-to-end technical architecture, design standards, and guardrails for the EPM / OneStream platform.
  • Translate Finance demand into scalable IT solution options, architecture decisions, estimates, delivery approaches, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Govern OneStream application architecture including metadata, dimensions, workflows, security, calculations, business rules, reporting structures, dashboards, and controls.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, audit, data governance, integration, and operational support standards.
  • Review and approve solution designs produced by vendors, consultants, and system integrators.
  • Design and govern integrations between OneStream and SAP ECC / SAP S/4HANA, data warehouse, analytics platforms, HR systems, PLM / Teamcenter, and other upstream or downstream applications.

2. Lead EPM Platform Operations & Governance

  • Act as the IT platform owner / technical lead for OneStream run, change, and new demand.
  • Define environment strategy across Development, Test, UAT, Production, release management, deployment standards, and support processes.
  • Ensure platform stability during critical Finance cycles such as budget, forecast, month-end close, quarter-end close, year-end close, and executive reporting.
  • Drive incident management, root-cause analysis, performance optimization, operational risk reduction, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain documentation, ownership model, support handoffs, operational playbooks, and knowledge transfer.

3. Manage Demand, Delivery & Vendor Performance

  • Act as the IT front door for EPM / OneStream demand, ensuring proper intake, prioritization, sizing, sequencing, and delivery governance.
  • Partner with PMO, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Finance leaders, and system integrators to deliver predictable outcomes.
  • Validate vendor proposals, technical estimates, licenses, support models, deliverables, and solution quality.
  • Support SAFe / value-stream-based delivery by aligning business priorities, platform roadmap, technical dependencies, and release planning.
  • Drive vendor accountability while building internal knowledge and reducing long-term dependency.

Preferred Platform Experience

OneStream experience is strongly preferred, but candidates with equivalent EPM / CPM architecture experience can be considered.

How to thrive in this role?

  • You hold a university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • You have 7–10+ years of experience in IT solution architecture, enterprise applications, ERP, EPM / CPM platforms, finance systems, or data / integration architecture.
  • You have experience leading or supporting complex finance technology implementations in multi-vendor or system-integrator-led delivery models.
  • You have a strong understanding of enterprise application lifecycle management, architecture governance, integration patterns, security, controls, and operational support.
  • You have the ability to communicate effectively with Finance executives, IT leadership, technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Assets:

  • Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, engineering, program-driven costing, or complex product environments.
  • Exposure to PLM / Teamcenter, PCR lifecycle systems, product costing, controlling, service bulletin financials, claim mandates, or program profitability analytics.
  • Experience with Power BI, Azure data services, integration platforms, or enterprise reporting architecture.
  • Experience building internal capability, platform governance, reusable standards, and vendor performance controls.
