Equal Employment Manager-RECRUITMENT/RELOCATION INCENTIVE
The Equal Employment Program Manager/Alternative Dispute Resolution Coordinator for VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System (VATVCBHCS) will serve as the principal advisor in the area of Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Employment, the Civil Rights External Programs, Diversity Management and ADR-Mediation for the Health Care System.
Advise Health Care System senior management on EEO issues/problems, EEO laws, regulations, and policies. Analyze and address workplace conflicts, EEO complaints, and barriers to equal employment opportunity. Meet with managers and/or supervisors in an effort to resolve the problem at this level. Recommends Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and coordinates complaints resolved in ADR with the Health Care System's legal advisor. Obtains signatures of all parties involved in ADR prior to forwarding to the Director for concurrence. Incumbent will assist individuals and groups in resolving employment disputes. Incumbent provides informal assistance to managers, employees, and groups in resolving sensitive and often moderately complex work-related issues and disputes. Incumbent works with individual parties to understand the basic nature of the dispute, the issues involved, and the positions of the various parties to facilitate resolution. Identify programs goals that may conflict with existing policies or practices, disciplinary and adverse actions, reassignments, job training, sexual harassment, and reprisal, based on factors of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, and disability. Conduct periodic evaluations of the workforce. Gather program data that reflect the effectiveness and efficiency. Meet with managers to discuss workforce profile(s) that may indicate improvements in EEO area(s). General knowledge of human resources management practices including recruitment and selection methods, the use of employment agencies, promotion practices, disciplinary procedures, and the functions of labor agreements. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Telework: This position may be authorized for ad hoc telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
