Equipment & Facilities Engineer

Symmetrio is recruiting an Equipment & Facilities Engineer on behalf of a growing medical device manufacturer.

This position will support production operations in a regulated manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for maintaining and improving manufacturing equipment, supporting facility infrastructure, ensuring cleanroom and regulatory compliance, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The Equipment & Facilities Engineer will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, EHS, and external contractors.

Responsibilities

Manufacturing Equipment

• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment and infrastructure
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, electromechanical, and automated systems
• Support equipment calibration, validation protocols, and risk assessments
• Document equipment changes and maintain records within the quality management system
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and reduce downtime
• Train team members on preventive maintenance and equipment calibration

Facilities Engineering

• Oversee facility infrastructure, including cleanrooms, HVAC, water systems, utilities, and production areas
• Support ISO Class 7 and Class 8 cleanroom operations and compliance
• Coordinate facility expansions, production layout changes, and utility upgrades
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EHS, building code, safety, and environmental requirements
• Manage contractors and vendors supporting equipment and facility projects
• Support root cause investigations involving equipment nonconformances and deviations
• Provide documentation and technical support during audits and inspections
• Support continuous improvement projects across manufacturing and facility operations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or eight years of equivalent education and experience
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, automation, utilities, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
• Ability to train employees on preventive maintenance and calibration
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Flexibility to support occasional off-hours work and travel
• Ability to pass required background and drug screenings

Preferred

• Medical device manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of PLC systems, Lean or Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and ISO Class 7 cleanrooms
• Experience working around radioactive materials

Compensation

$130,000.00 - $160,000.00 plus bonus

Up to $10,000 in relocation assistance
