Equipment Maintenance Engineer II
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to support production and manufacturing operations.
- Develop, maintain, and back up automation software programs and related technical documentation.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, control system, and automation-related issues to minimize machine downtime.
- Support the installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment, production lines, and automation projects.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, servo systems, and industrial networks.
- Analyze equipment performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and reliability.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Manage automation spare parts inventory and ensure the availability of critical components.
- Prepare operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and technical reports.
- Support TPM, 6S, and other operational excellence initiatives within the factory.
- Provide technical training and guidance to technicians and operators on automation systems.
Education & Experience
- Minimum 3 yr. experience in industrial automation, manufacturing, or production environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing, or production environments.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, Omron, or equivalent).
- Experience with HMI and SCADA development and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, ProfNet, Profibus, and CC-Link.
- Knowledge of VFDs, servo systems, sensors, instrumentation, and motion control systems.
- Experience in machine commissioning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in coating processes, optical equipment, and optical testing systems.
- Project management and equipment installation experience.
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0, data acquisition systems, and manufacturing automation technologies.
Working Conditions
- Work in a manufacturing and production environment with exposure to machinery, automation equipment, and production lines.
Physical Requirements
- Sufficient visual acuity to read technical drawings, electrical schematics, and HMI/SCADA screens.
- Ability to perform troubleshooting activities in various production environments.
